Our work consists studying "the love, the fantasia", historical novel of Assia Djebar, in its relation to the myth of Antigone. So, myths regardless of their type and affiliation have become very important models and sources of inscription for writers, this is achieved through rewriting. First, through an analytical study based on the my thocritical approach, we were able to highlight the points in common between this novel and the myth of Antigone, then, we were able to make the link of similarities between Cherifa and Antigone, something which pushed us to consider Cherifa as an Arab-Berber -Antigone. Finally, we noted that the goal of Assia Djebar through this novel as well as her recourse to the myth of Antigone ,was for the affirmation of a dynamic, female existence, combative and claimant.
