Lung cancer is considered to be the main cause of cancer death worldwide, and in its early stages it is difficult to detect because only in the advanced stage symptoms appear causing the mortality rate to be the highest among all other types of cancer. Lung cancer is cause due to uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both lungs, if it's missed with any treatment, this growth can be spread away from lung in a process called metastasis into nearby tissue of chest or other parts of the bodyThe objective of this study is to design and develop an automated system for lung CT images diagnosis to Support the physicians‟ decisions in the diagnosis and treatment planIn this study, Data set of Lung CT images created by TCIA (The Cancer Imaging Archive) were used, MATLAB have been used through every procedures made on these images . In image processing procedures, process such as image preprocessing, then the features are extracted from the segmented lungs region using Haralick‟s feature, this step is followed by features selection and reduction to choose the best representative features. In the classification step Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was applied to classify images into normal or abnormal.

A Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) is an alarm system for networks. NID Smonitors all inbound and outbound network actions and generates alarms when it detects suspicious or malicious attempts. A false positive alarm is generated when the NIDS misclassifies a normal action in the network as an attack. We present a data mining technique to assist network administrators to analyze and reduce false positive alarms that are produced by a NIDS. Our data mining technique is based on a Growing HierarchicalSelf-Organizing Map (GHSOM) that adjusts its architecture during an unsupervised training process according to the characteristics of the input alarm data, where no prior information is available about these alarms. GHSOM clusters these alarms in a way that supports network administrators in making decisions about true and false alarms. We compare the effectiveness of our GHSOM-based technique with a recent technique(SOM) using real-world intrusion detection data. The results show that our technique performs better than SOM in terms of reducing false positives from 15% to 4.7% and false negatives from16% to 4%.

The research we conducted during the period of this thesis aims to design a computer application for HMI panel to control a pump station unit via the virtual industrial programmable logic controller that reproduces by simulation the operation of the real automation at lower cost and without risk. The purpose of our application is to make it easier for the operator to work, to ensure material and personal safety, with the least amount of manpower, and to avoid pump outages and shipping delays with the lowest cost possible. As part of our project, we needed automation and supervision software. It is in this sense that we decided to use the new Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) software, which combines both SIMATIC STEP 7 and WINCC.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between pronunciation errors that occur as the result of local accent in the sound system of some English words. The researcher has chosen Merawie Locality Schools as a case study. The researcher designed an oral test to find out the problems that face the pupils when they are using the language orally. The pupils were selected from 8th class. The researcher found that: The pupils were influenced by their local accent and stressed on the last sound in some English words and added a vowel sound to the end of some English words .Also lack of audio materials at schools negatively affected pronunciation. The researcher recommended that: To pay more attention to the pupils' pronunciation.
