الملخص

This study aims to investigate the relationship between pronunciation errors that occur as the result of local accent in the sound system of some English words. The researcher has chosen Merawie Locality Schools as a case study. The researcher designed an oral test to find out the problems that face the pupils when they are using the language orally. The pupils were selected from 8th class. The researcher found that: The pupils were influenced by their local accent and stressed on the last sound in some English words and added a vowel sound to the end of some English words .Also lack of audio materials at schools negatively affected pronunciation. The researcher recommended that: To pay more attention to the pupils' pronunciation.

ترجمة الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلي التحقق من العلاقة بين الأخطاء في النطق التي تحدث في نطق بعض الكلمات الانجليزية بسبب تدخل اللهجة المحلية للغة الأم .اختارت الباحثة مدارس محلية مروي بمثابة دراسة حالة .اعتمدت الباحثة علي منهج الملاحظة لجمع البيانات حيث أعدت اختباراً شفهياً لمعرفة المشاكل التي تواجه التلاميذ في استخدام اللغة الشفهية .وقد اختارت الباحثة طلاب الصف الثامن .وعليه فقد توصلت الدراسة للنتائج التالية :- يتأثر اكتساب اللغة الأجنبية باللهجة المحلية في النطق وذلك بتشديد الصوت الأخير في بعض الكلمات الانجليزية مع إضافة صوت حرف علة في نهاية بعض الكلمات.أيضا ًغياب المواد والأجهزة السمعية بالمدارس مما يؤثر سلباً علي النطق.وقد أوصت الباحثة أن يولي المعلمون مزيداً من الاهتمام بنطق التلاميذ للغة الانجليزية.
