The present work aims to evaluate the antioxidant and anti-hepatotoxic activities of the crude extracts of Centaure afragilis. The determination of polyphenols and flavonoids reveals their existence in all extracts (aqueous and methanolicextract), and the methanolicextractis the richest in phenolic compounds with a rate of 27.86 ± 0.18 μg EAG / mg. The results obtained in vitro show that the extracts have an important antioxidant power; the methanolicextractis the most active. In vivo, in order to evaluate a hepatoprotective (preventive) potency in mice, hepatotoxicity was induced by paracetamol after treatment of mice for 5 days. The crude extract at 200 mg / kg showed a significanthepato-preventive effect with an improvement in the status of markers of oxidative stress (GSH, CAT and SOD). In conclusion, this study supports the traditional use of this plant to treat certain disorders related to oxidative stress
