The simultaneous flow of a viscous fluid in an open space and in an adjoining porous medium is an example of a coupled flow due to apparent interaction between flows in the two regions. Because of numerous industrial and engineering applications, the theoretical studies of such flows have received a good deal of attention in the literature during the last four decades or so. This project is concerned with analytical and numerical investigations of some coupled flows of viscous incompressible fluids in the presence of bounding porous media which are assumed to be isotropic, fully saturated and with constant properties. Three basic flow problems from the literature have been analyzed in detail. The first problem (Chapter 2), comprising two parts, deals with generalized Couette flow, including heat transfer, of two immiscible fluids in a straight channel bounded below by a porous medium of finite thickness. Using the Brinkman equation to model the flow in the porous medium and assuming the presence of a heat source in the upper fluid of the clear region, exact solutions for velocity and temperature variables, in all three regions of flow, have been obtained subject to a host of matching and boundary conditions. The variation of velocity and temperature profiles in each region has been discussed graphically in relation to a number of non-dimensional parameters. In the next part, we have extended this problem by introducing another heat source term in the clear region. In the second problem (Chapter 3) of this project, the classical Stokes layer has been extended to the case when an infinite extent of viscous fluid is bounded below by an oscillating permeable medium. Using the Darcy law to model the flow in the porous region, in conjunction with the Beavers- Joseph slip condition at the porous interface, both steady state and transient solutions, including boundary layer thickness, have been obtained. The effect of two key parameters on the flow, has been analyzed by plotting unsteady velocity profiles in the clear region for a range of values of these parameters. The third and final flow problem (Chapter 4) considered in this project deals with the steady viscous flow between two infinite circular disks, rotating with constant but different angular velocities about their common axis. It is assumed that the lower disk, made of a porous material of low permeability, is rotating like a rigid body. We have used the continuity and momentum equations for both clear and porous regions in the cylindrical coordinate system to analyze this coupled flow. Using similarity solutions, the governing partial differential equations and the associated matching and boundary conditions have been transformed to a system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations for the similarity functions. A numerical method has been used to solve this system. Plots of various velocity components have been presented in two cases to illustrate the effects of rotation and permeability parameters.

L’étude menée sur l’identification morpho-taxinomique des bio- agresseurs des vergers d’agrumes de quelques stations de Mitidja (I.N.P.V. de Boufarik, I.T.A.F DE tasala Merdja et Chebli), ont permis de recensé 18 espèces appartenant à 9 familles (Aleyrodidae, Aphididae, Cicadellidae, Coccidae, Diaspididae, Gracillariidae, Margaroidae, Tylenchulidaer et Pseudococcidae ).La famille la plus riche en espèces, c’est la famille des Diaspididae. Elle totalise 7 espèces. De sévères infestations par Parlatori aziziphi sont observées sur tous les agrumes sans exception, ou le degré d’attaque s’effectue au même titre sur les feuilles, les rameaux que sur les fruits. De même nous avons noté une pullulation alarmante d’Aleurothrixus floccosus sur les Citron quatre saison Eureka et Thomson navel.Trois espèces de pucerons vecteurs de la Tristeza ont été identifiés,il s’agit de Aphis spiraaecola, Toxoptera auranti et Aphis spiraecola.Quant à la fraction racinaire, nous avons noté le nématode phytoparasite Tylenchulus semipenetrans, communément appelé, nématode de dépérissement long des arbres d’agrumes. Ce phytoparasite est signalé dans les trois stations d’étude.

Nutritive value of four browsing trees (Acacia.torrtlis , Ziziphus.spinachristi, Acacia.mellifera and Acacia.seyal ) leaves and pods wereevaluated by estimating chemical composition and in vitro gasproduction techniques.The chemical composition for both leaves andpods were significantly different (p<0.01 ) among the species . Crudeprotein (CP) contents ranged from 16.0 to 24.1 %. Acid detergentfibre (ADF) and neutral detergent fibre (NDF) contents variedwithin species in the range 18.5- 43.8 % and 36.1 - 72.3% respectively. Total condensed tannin (TCT) contents ranged from 0.5- 6.2%. TCTwere negatively correlated with fraction (b) and (a +b) whereas ADFwere negatively correlated with most of the estimated parameters .The gas production parameters significantly varied among thespecies . There were also significant differences in terms ofcumulative gas production , invitro organic matter digestibility(IOMD) and calculated metabolizable energy (ME). The addition ofpoly Ethylene Glycol (PEG) significantly increased (p<0.01 ) the gasproduction from both soluble and insoluble fraction (a) and (b) ,invitro organic matter digestibility (IOMD) and metabolizable energy(ME) . The IOMD values of leaves and pods without PEG ranged fromviii39.7to 64.5 % and with PEG ranged from 37.9 to 80.0 %. While the MEcontent without PEG ranged from 5.9 to 10.6 MJ kg/DM and the MEcontent with PEG ranged from 5.7 to 13 MJ kg/DM The bestimprovement in gas production, invitro organic matter digestibility(IVOMD) and metabolizable energy (ME) were observed with 50% PEGw/w. Generally this improvement indicate the negative effect of tannins ondigestibility.

Staphylococcus aureus est une bactérie commensale de la flore cutanéo muqueuse de l'homme. En raison de sa virulence et sa résistance aux antibiotiques habituels, cette bactérie a une grande importance dans la pathologie humaine et animale. L'objectif de notre étude est d'estimer le portage nasal de Staphylococcus aureus chez le bovin laitier. Pour cela, des prélèvements nasaux chez des vaches laitières ont été réalisés à travers sept élevages situés dans quatre régions de la wilaya de Tizi Ouzou. En parallèle, des échantillons du lait de mélange et des prélèvements nasaux des éleveurs ont été recueillis. L’isolement des souches a été réalisé sur de la gélose Baird Parker, suivi d'une identification biochimique des isolats. La résistance aux antibiotiques a été testée selon la méthode de diffusion des disques sur de la gélose Mueller Hinton et en suivant les recommandations du CLSI (2018) et CASFM (2019). Au total, 28 souches de S. aureus ont été isolées. L’étude de leurs résistances aux antibiotiques révèle une forte résistance vis-à-vis la pénicilline G, avec un taux de 82.14%. Une résistance relativement faible vis-à-vis l’érythromycine a été observée. Deux souches SARM ont été isolées. Les résultats obtenus de cette étude révèlent le danger associé à la présence des SARM chez le bovin laitier. Ainsi l'installation d’un protocol de biosécurité et des bonnes pratiques d'hygiène, permet d’éviter la propagation des SARM au niveau des élevages et tout le long de la chaîne de production.
