Fatherhood is a central yet under-researched dimension of family life in Egypt, particularly from a psychological and identity-based perspective. This study explores how Egyptian fathers construct and experience fatherhood through the lenses of identity theory and role theory. Using a qualitative research design, seven focus groups were conducted with 43 Egyptian fathers to examine the meanings they attribute to fatherhood, their perceived roles, challenges, support systems, and personal transformations. Thematic analysis revealed six interconnected themes: (1) describing the father’s role, (2) learning the father role, (3) social and cultural influences on the father role, (4) meaning of being a father, (5) challenges and difficulties with the father role, and (6) support systems for the father role. Findings indicated that fatherhood constitutes a core identity for participants, shaped by emotional bonds, moral responsibility, religious values, and intergenerational experiences. Fathers experienced significant role strain arising from economic pressures, work–family conflict, limited institutional support, and cultural expectations surrounding masculinity and emotional expression. Despite these challenges, participants demonstrated strong reflective capacity and aspiration toward more emotionally engaged and nurturing forms of fatherhood. The study underscores the dynamic interaction between identity and role processes in shaping Egyptian fatherhood and highlights a critical gap in father-focused psychosocial and policy support. Implications for family policy, mental health services, and culturally grounded fatherhood interventions in Egypt are discussed.

Le Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS) est un composé semi-conducteur abondant et non toxique adapté au développement de couches actives des cellules photovoltaïques.Ce sujet est basé sur la modélisation et de l'optimisation de cellules solaires à couches minces basées sur le CFTS et l’étude de l'effet des paramètres du dispositif tels que l'épaisseur, la densité de dopage et l'énergie du gap de l’absorbeur sur les performances de la cellule solaire dont la structure est : FTO / TiO2 / CFTS / Mo. Les simulations ont été réalisées à l’aide du programme unidimensionnel SCAPS-1D.

This thesis proposes a strategic plan for sustainable development in Dhour Choueir, which is based on the preservation and reactivation of the built, socio-cultural and ecological heritage of the town. It demonstrates the municipal and community efforts to preserve Dhour Choueir’s heritage can be promoted through what I call “Campus Planning Model” (CPM), a prospective planning model for the sustainable economic development of a Lebanese ‘mid-size’ village. The CPM takes its inspiration from the spatial, social, and administrative framework of “the university,” notably the maintenance of a campus, democratic decision-making mechanisms involving all its constituencies, and engagement in the well-being of the wider community. It is predicated on the argument that this framework will ensure the revitalization of Dhour Choueir’s economy by preserving/upcycling its built heritage, and the revitalization of the cultural, social and ecological heritage.Drawing on a comprehensive analysis of the relevant legal, administrative, and historical context; examples of successful economic and cultural initiatives in Lebanon and abroad; and interviews, this thesis demonstrates that Dhour Choueir should connect its sustainable economic development to an educational mission. It proposes a comprehensive strategy to manage, market and fund several initiatives, combining them with municipal policies and institutional developments, which would be the basis for the CPM. I argue that the CPM should particularly establish links with the town’s built heritage as well as its deep-rooted stone masonry tradition, for which Dhour Choueir have boasted a regional reputation since the eighteenth century.Proper planning and incentives to invest in the regeneration of the built heritage as small educational institutions attracting national and international architecture schools, among others, would best serve to preserve Dhour Choueir’s built, natural and cultural heritage, and restore, at the same time, the town’s economy to its pre-1975 strength and regional competitiveness.

Some Sudanese herbalistis believed that the fruits of Acaia niloticaand Zizohus spina christican cure sore throat infection. The two plantshave been tested in the present study to investigate their in vitropotentialeffect aganist the bacteria associated with sore throatinfection.A total of ٣٠throat swabs were collected randomly in Khartoumstate from patients of different ages and sexes suffering from sore throatinfection during the period March ٢٠٠٤to June ٢٠٠٤.The Gram positive bacteria isolated were Streptococcus pyogenes(٤٦,٧%), Streptococcus pneumoniae(٣٠%), Staphylococcus aureus(١٣,٣%),Staphylococcus hemolyticus(٦,٧%), Actinomycesis israelii(٦,٧%),Staphylococcus capitis(٣,٣%), Corynebacterium diphtheriae(٣,٣%) andCorynebacterium ulcerans(٣,٣%) . The Gram negative bacteria isolatedwas Haemophilus influenzae(٣٠%).Antibiotic sensitivity test were done for each isolate. The majorityof the isolates were sensitive to Ampicillin (٩٧,٦٧%) and Penicillin(٩٣,٠٢%). However, some of them (٧٢,٠%) were resistant to Cloxacillin.Acaia nilotica andZizohus spina christ fruits were extracted bywater then the extracts were testedfor their antibacterial activity byimpregnated filter paper discs methods. Three differrent concentrationsof the extracts were examined ١٠%, ٢٠%and ٣٠%.Water extract of Acacia niloticainhibited the growth of manybacteria isolated in this study. The most effective concentration was ٣٠%concentration as ٦٧,٤٤%of the isolates showed growth inhibtion at thisconcentration while ٥٨,١٣%at ٢٠%and ٥٣,٤٨%at ١٠%concentration. Themost sensitive species to ٣٠%concenration of Acacia niloticawereStreptococcus pyogenesand Streptococcus pneumoniae.Water extract of Zizphus spina christishowed weak effect on thebacterial growth of the isolates in this study as ١٦,٢٧%of the isolatesshowed growth inhibtion at ٣٠%concentration, ١٣,٩٥%of the isolatesshowed growth inhibtion at ٢٠%concentration and ٤,٦٥%at theconcentration ١٠%. The most senstive species to ٣٠%concentration ofZizphus spina christiwas Streptococcus pyogenes.In the present study Acacia niloticaextract was found to beeffective aganist the bacteria associated with sorethroat infection whileZizphus spina christihad a weak effect.In this investigation, Acacia niloticawas found to be moreeffective than Chloramphenicol, Erythromycin and Cloxacillin fortreatment of sore throat infection inKhartoum state and equally effectiveas Tetracycline but it was less effective than Ampicillin, Penicillin,Gentamycin and Streptomycin for treatment of sore throat infection inKhartoum state. While Zizphus spina christiwas found to be lesseffective than Ampicillin, Erythromycin, Gentamycin, Chloramphenicol,Cloxacillin, Streptomycin, Tetracycline and Penicillin for treatment ofsore throat infection in Khartoum state

Les jeux vidéo comme la littérature ont beaucoup évolué ces deux dernières décennies pour prendre différentes directions. La sortie d’un nouveau genre essentiellement basé sur l’histoire : Les jeux vidéo narratif brouillait la ligne autrefois distincte qui séparait les deux mediums.L’objectif de cette étude est d’évaluer le potentiel du nouveau genre à faire partie de la littérature. La problématique est par conséquent la suivante : Est-ce que les jeux vidéo narratifs peuvent être considéré comme un genre littéraire ?Pour répondre à la problématique, une recherche interdisciplinaire a été conduite. L’analyse des aspects narratif du jeu Dear Esther et la comparaison faite avec le genre roman, plus spécialement postmoderne, nous a permis d’arriver à la conclusion que les jeux vidéo narratif sont étroitement liés à la littérature.
