Texture analysis studies have been increasingly explored IN neuroradiology in the recent years, as it enabling diseases characterization and quantification of disease distribution. The aim of this study was to characterize white matter lesions on the brain in MR images using texture analysis. This analytical study had been conducted at Antalya medical center in the period from October 2018 to March 2021by using study of 1646 brain MR images selected conveniently for patients having Glioma, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Small Vessels Diseases (SVD) , then these images entered to interactive data language program to extract the textural features from the normal tissues and the white matter lesions, then these extracted features entered to statistical package social science for analysis. And the results reveal that; the best textural features for discrimination of the Glioma from the normal tissues in all MR imaging sequences were the mean, entropy, Gray-LevelNonuniformity and Run-Length Nonuniformity. While for the MS plaques the features were the mean, variance, entropy and Run Percentage textural features. Also the best features for differentiation the SVD from normal tissues in all MRI sequences were the mean, variance, energy, entropy, Gray-Level Nonuniformity and Run Percentage. Inconclusion texture analysis statistics successfully discriminate the white matter lesions from normal brain tissues in all MRI sequences, firstly when using the first order statistics on the Glioma, MS and SVD the imaging sequence that shows the highest sensitivity in discrimination the lesion from normal tissues were T2=98.2%, T1+C=99.3% andT1+C=97.5% respectively; and when using the higher order statistics the highest sensitivity were in T1+C=93.6%, T1+C=99.3% and T1=97.5%correspondingly.

A study was conducted to evaluate the use of fungi as analternative method for tick control instead of the currently usedchemical acaricides to overcome their known drawbacks.Scopulariopsis brevicaulis was isolated from Amblyommalepidum for the first time. Pathogenicity of the fungus was tested ondifferent developmental stages of Hyalomma anatolicumanatolicum and A. lepidum in comparison with Metarhiziumanisopliae which was obtained from the International Centre ofInsect Physiology and Ecology, Kenya. Different concentrations ofspore suspensions (curative dose 2.4x107 spores/ml) of the twofungi were used. High mortality of immature stages was observed.Mortality of flat adult ticks was also reported. There was a strongpositive correlation (r= 0.99) between the concentration of thespores and mortality of flat adult ticks. Culture filtrate of S.brevicaulis was also tested. It revealed the same effect as the sporesuspension.Both fungi affected the reproductive potential offemales A. lepidum and H .a. anatolicum. Moulting percent age ofengorged larvae and hatching of eggs were significantly reduced(P<0.05). Infection of eggs was also demonstrated which suggeststransovarian transmission of the fungus. The study also showedpersistence of S. brevicaulis for 60 days on rabbit's ears. Thisfinding suggests the ability of transmission of infection to healthyticks through direct contact. Both fungi showed ability to adhere tothe cuticles and penetrate tick integuments. Conidia of both fungiXIIIwere isolated from their internal tissues. This finding is important inconsidering fungi as bioinsecticides.Gas chromatography mass spectrometry of S. brevicaulisculture filtrate recovered ketonic compounds and fatty acids whichmight be toxic to ticks. Reduction in tick haemocyctes was shownwhich reflects the effect of these metabolites on the defenseresponse of ticks.
