The purpose of this research is to study the attitudes of education leaders in usingtechnology in 13 technology-enriched private schools in the United Arab Emirates. Threeresearch questions were formulated to achieve the purpose of the research. Five hypotheseswere proposed in support of those questions. Quantitative methodology was used. Bothdescriptive and inferential statistical data analyses led to answer the research questions.A survey constructed by the researcher was used as an instrument to identify thetechnology tools that are being used for presentation, communication, file management, classobservation, and feedback collection. The significant effect of gender, age, and years ofexperience with relative to the six NETS-A categories; Leadership and vision, Learning andTeaching, Professional Practices, Management and Operation, Assessment of Technology Usein Schools and Social and Legal Issues were also explored. The theoretical findings of the research revealed that education leaders need to sharethe vision of technology use and develop an understanding of the 21st century skills requiredfor a competent digital citizen. Moreover, education leaders need to be prepared for the role intheir higher education and the professional development they receive. The empirical findings showed a strong tendency to use technology tools as asubstitution of the conventional ones with null, or minimal functional improvement accordingto SAMR model. Furthermore, no significant effect of gender was noticed on the educationleaders’ attitudes in terms of using technology in schools. However, age ranges and years ofexperience affected particular categories. The three research questions were answered andfurther research is recommended.

Dyslexia is one of the most common learning difficulties worldwide, often requiring tailored interventions targeting phonological awareness, reading comprehension, and cognitive support. This study explores the design and evaluation of a metaverse-based virtual reality (VR) application to support dyslexic children in the UAE. Using a usercentered, explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach, the research involved three phases: a stakeholder survey with therapists, educators, and parents (N = 151), development of a multi-featured VR prototype, and evaluation by six dyslexia experts. The survey identified key priorities such as progress tracking, adaptive learning, accessibility, working memory, and attention, along with concerns about VR unfamiliarity, equipment cost, and real-world skill transfer. These findings shaped the app’s design, which featured five interactive environments with bilingual content, gamified activities, and customizable tools. Expert evaluations confirmed the prototype’s educational value, usability, and cultural relevance, while suggesting improvements in onboarding, content diversity, and dyslexia-specific features. This study contributes to inclusive educational technology by showing how immersive, multisensory environments, guided by stakeholder input and frameworks like the Phonological Deficit Theory and Constructivist Learning Theory, can support neurodiverse learners. It addresses a key gap by presenting a culturally grounded, co-designed VR solution that actively involves therapists, educators, and parents in virtual learning, which is an element often overlooked, and by introducing a metaverse-based platform tailored to dyslexic learners in under-researched contexts like the UAE.

This thesis considers the statistical inference on the generalized exponential distribution parameters in presence of progressive Type-I censoring under partially accelerated life test. The maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the unknown parameters in the case of step-stress partially accelerated life tests. The performance of the estimators is investigated using simulation for certain simulation designs and sample sizes. The biases and mean square errors of the maximum-likelihoodestimators are computed to assess the performance of the point estimators whereas coverage probability and expected length is used to assess the performance of the interval estimators. These interval estimators are derived using three classical approaches namely; asymptotic, Bootstrap percentile interval, and Bootstrap-tconfidence intervals. Comparison between these three methods is also conducted.Further, reliability functions are derived for various time-t and the point and interval estimators are investigated. To illustrate the above, a data analysis is conducted. Finally, conclusions and ideas for possible future research are discussed in this thesis

This thesis is concerned with using a priori information on the communication problem to enhance the performance of adaptive algorithms. We demonstrate this for two scenarios. In the first part of the thesis, we consider the problem of channel estimation for multiuser OFDM transmission over block time varying channels. We show that frequency domain based channel estimation can be more practical and less computationally complex than the time domain based estimation. We show how a priori information (time and frequency correlation) allows us to design Kalman filters and obtain a very good performance in environments with high Doppler. In the second part we use our a priori knowledge about the output noise distri-bution to design adaptive filters with optimum error nonlinearities. Specifically, we use the energy relation that is usually used for mean square analysis to de¬rive the mean square error for general error nonlinearities and subsequently use that to design optimum error nonlinearities given our knowledge about the noise distribution. We use a similar technique to design adaptive filters with optimum error nonlinearities and data normalization that is usually used when the input data is correlated.
