- Concreting in hot weather is when the concrete is mixed, transported, and placed in a high ambient temperature with low relative humidity and under a solar radiation or exposed to the wind. There are still nowadays phenomena that are poorly understood by researchers and practicing engineers. One major problem is that the concrete has a tendency to undergo shrinkage during the hydration of cement. When concrete is restricted hydrate condition, volume change generates high internal stresses that can lead to cracking of the material. This is a constraint that must be considered during the design and construction of structures. In recent years, several studies have been conducted to study the influence of temperature on the behavior of concrete. In most cases, the behavior of the concrete was analyzed only in isothermal conditions. Climatic conditions during the implementation have a strong influence on the final quality of concrete. It should be concerned with this sensitivity to high temperatures when preparing the concrete and then, during transport, its implementation, and its cure hardening to maturity.
