ترجمة الملخص

This study has evaluated the federalism in the West Kordofan Statefrom political Geography prospective, during 1994-2003.The study has followed many methods to achieve its objective suchas historical, descriptive, statistical, power analysis and functionalmethods. The study has used primary resources such as (questionnaires,interviews and observations), and secondary resources such as (books,periodicals, thesis) for collecting the data.The study consists seven chapters, addressing the following area:research principles, Federalism in Sudan since the independence until theadvent of the National Salvation RevolutioAn, concepts of Federalism,the geographical characteristics of the study area (natural and humanelements), the administrative division and services, the economical, socialand environmental effects of federalism, and finally the study maintainsresults and conclusion reached.The study has concluded many significant findings:The federalism in the study area has failed to achieve the statedobjectives satisfactorily, resulting in negative economical, social, andenvironmental repercussions. This situation has led to degradation inagricultural and pastoral sectors, deficit in the general budget, hamper thedevelopmental projects, increased poverty, deterioration in basic servicesand infrastructure, malnutrition, prevalence of unemployment, prevalenceof crimes, immigrations and displacement, intense of tribal conflicts, anddegradation the vegetation and pastures.
