Air pollution induced by any industrial area, can cause very serious environmental impacts for all of the living things. The impact could be enhanced if the industrial area exists under certain atmospheric characteristics which favor accumulation of air pollution. This kind of atmosphere usually does not tend to disperse or ventilate the local air naturally. An example of industrial area that causes air pollution is Sohar Industrial Area (SIA) in Sultanate of Oman.The main objective of the study was to investigate the contribution of atmospheric processes to the degradation of the air quality in Sohar Industrial Area.Two approaches were used in this study. The First approach was related to the statistical analysis to explain the atmospheric characteristics such as stagnation, ventilation, and recirculation using five years hourly wind data. The second approach was related to utilize weather model simulation to simulate mesoscale circulation such as sea breeze and its contribution to the air quality processes. High resolution numerical weather prediction model at 2.8 km (COSMO) was used. In addition, the vertical extent of the air pollutants was investigated by analyzing the depth of the planetary boundary layer (PBL).The study showed good results about how the atmospheric processes might contribute to the degradation of the air quality in Sohar Industrial Area. The statistical analysis showed that the atmospheric dilution potential of Sohar industrial Area was prone to stagnation and recirculation more than ventilation. In fact, there was no single case during the period of the study showed any ventilation in Sohar industrial Area. The overall occurrence percentage of stagnation, recirculation, and ventilation were 91.6% of the time, 99.3% of the time, and 0% of the time, respectively. The simulation showed that there was a seasonal variation in the contribution of atmospheric processes to the degradation of the air quality in Sohar industrial Area.

This thesis is structured to develop four different economic production quantity (EPQ) models with stock level dependent demand rate, variable holding cost and quantity discount with total profit per unit time maximization objective function rather than minimizing total cost per unit time and allowing non-zero end inventory for each cycle.Two types of holding cost are considered during the modeling of the four models: incremental and retroactive holding cost. Furthermore, the first two EPQ models are developed without quantity discount and the remaining two models are developed with the assumption of having all unit discounts to maximize the total profit.Finally, four mathematical models with optimum solution procedures, including nonlinear programming, and sensitivity analysis are carried out in this thesis work.

Dans ce travail intitulé Ecriture et lecture déplacées dans l’oeuvre de Ghania Hammadou, nous avons voulu tenter l’analyse de trois romans à partir du concept de déplacement Ŕque nous empruntons à Charles Bonn1- perçu aussi bien sur le plan de l’écriture que sur celui de la lecture. Notre démarche traite trois textes s’étalant sur deux décennies, celle des années quatre-vingt-dix, et la première décennie du XXIème siècle. En fait, les oeuvres parlent de la décennie noire, c’est-à-dire des années quatre-vingtdix parce que c’est à la fin des années quatre-vingts, exactement avec l’apparition du terrorisme en Algérie, que nous assistons à la naissance de nouveaux écrits abordant, dans leur majorité, la situation de l’Algérie de la décennie noire et de ses citoyens victimes de la guerre terroriste. Aux premières parutions, ces sujets débattus apparaissent nouveaux aux lectorats, par rapport aux écrits de la littérature coloniale, mais ils ne s’attardent pas à devenir familiers à leurs lecteurs contemporains vu l’atrocité des événements journaliers qui se poursuivent en Algérie.

السكن العشوائي ظاهرة تعاني منها المدن في مختلف دول العالم فهي تؤثر سلبا على النسيج العمراني وتشوه الكتلة الحضرية والمدن الجزائرية كغيرها من المدن تعاني وبشكل كبير من هاته الظاهرة فقد تفاقمت هذه الظاهرة وخاصة في المدن الكبيرة وذلك كونها تعتبر قطبا جاذبا للسكان وذلك بحثا عن حياة أكثر رفاهية وعمل أقل شقاءا ومن هذه المنطلق تكثر المشاكل المترتبة عن هاته التجمعات اللاقانونية والتي تكون منشأ للآفات والامراض وهي تعد من أهم المشاكل الحضرية بسبب كثرة واسمرارية وانتشارها والمشاكل الاجتماعية والثقافية والاقتصادية والعمرانية التي تفرزها .ومن أجل توضيح المشكل والالمام به حاولنا في بحثنا هذا الاحتكاك بالواقع الفعلي واقتراح جملة من التوصيات والاقتراحات لمحاولة الاسهام في الحد من هاته الظاهرة .ونرجو أننا قد ساهمنا وبقدر بسيط في إيجاد آليات للحد من هاته الظاهرة أو بمعنى أصح لمحاولة ايجاد حل لها .

مهارة القراءة إحدى المهارات الأساسية في تعليم اللغة العربية لغير الناطقين بها ومن مشكلات مهارة القراءة بعض الطلاب يقرأون دون أن يدونوا ملاحظات أو ملخصات لما يقرأون في دفاترهم الخاصة. واستخدام اسلوب تمييز تفرقة باسلوب اللغة العربية أو نظرية النحو والصرف الأخرى. وأما أسئلة البحث: كيف استخدام وما العوامل التى تؤثر على نجاح اسلوب التمييز في مهارة القراءة للكتب التراثية في دورة "أوشيان عربية" ببارى كديرى. وأما أهداف البحث: لكشف استخدام اسلوب التمييز والعوامل التى تؤثر على نجاح اسلوب طريقة التمييز في مهارة القراءة للكتب التراثية في دورة "أوشيان عربية" ببارى كديرى. وكان منهج البحث هو البحث الوصفي بالمدخل الكيفي. ويجمع فيه البيانات نحو ملاحظة الميدان ومقابلة الأفراد والوثائق. وأما أسلوب تحليل البيانات فهو على ما أثبته Miles & Huberman. وأما نتائج البحث المستفادة بها: 1)استخدام اسلوب التمييز على الأُغنية والمادة في اسلوب التمييز يتعلق من الإعراب فقط 2)وخطوات التعليم في اسلوب التمييز وهي بدأ المادة بقراءة قواعد في العمود بالأغينة ويشرح المدرس المادة. 3)ويستعمل الكتاب فتح القريب في تطبيقها لأنه في هذا الكتاب وجد كثير من الأمثال جملة الإبتدائية (المبتداء والخبر). 4)وأن الوقت في عملية التعليم بهذه الاسلوب وهي 100 الساعة تماما. 5)واسلوب التمييز يستعل الدف/الطبل عندما قراءة القواعد بالأغنية . واسلوب التمييز كثير من التطببيق وهي 80% من المادة.

In this thesis, a Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system is presented that supports querying with respect to color and texture low-level features. The fundamental idea is to generate automatically image descriptors by analyzing the image content. The focus will be on computing global similarity between images. Query is made upon images of homogeneous color/texture that do not require segmentation. The selected images domain is fashion and interior design.The underlying techniques are based on the adoption of Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix (GLCM)and correlogram (correlation histogram)as statistical approaches to texture analysis.In addition,cumulative histogram and moments are utilized in color analysis. These techniques are applied in separated and combined manners.Each image is represented by features vector(s) in the features space.These vectors are indexed using an iterative clustering algorithm called Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering (HAC) which provides easy-to-index data structures as well as faster query execution facilities. The degree of similarity between images is defined by the distance in the features space.Given a query image, the system first extracts its features vector, and then compares this vector with those of the images pointed along the index structure using wide or narrow search algorithms. In this way, the matched images could be ranked and put into group according to the distance of their features vectors to the query one. This ranked group is considered as the query result.During the evaluation process a comparison study is made between different applied retrieval schemes. Cumulative histogram proved to be the best according to the selected domain, both as a separated retrieval scheme or when it is combined with GLCM or correlogram, respectively.The conducted experimental evaluation showed that the clustering based indexing algorithm offers high retrieval accuracy with a considerable reduction in the number of required similarity comparisons. Search efficiency is improved due to the fact that the query image is not compared exhaustively with all the images listed in the database.
