الملخص

The On-demand transportation systems are primarily used to provide accessible transportation for elderly and disabled people. Due to changes in the population and technologies advances, there will be a rise in the demand for these services in the upcoming years. In addition, new policy visions include shared on-demand transportation in the planning of efficient public transit means as a fundamentalelement. Therefore, the objective of this thesis is to investigate how new customer-oriented designs may enhance the quality of service offered to the customers with-out deteriorating operational costs, taking into account real-life and expected fea-tures of the on-demand transportation of nowadays. The research topic studied inthis thesis is marked by its relevance in decision making systems. The advanced design of the problem supported by optimization techniques has demonstrated its contribution to reduce operational costs with higher levels of service quality. This output may be advisable for service providers to make decisions which are benefi-cial both to the service provider and the customer perspective.
