The study aimed to test Caritas' application of basic humanitarian standards for quality and accountability and their impact on livelihood projects in the Daraya area in Damascus countryside, as the basic human standards for quality and accountability were chosen as an independent variable. While the effectiveness of livelihood projects in the Daraya area in Damascus countryside (the dependent variable). The research community consists of a purposive sample of (89) employees of Caritas, who were predetermined according to the nature and level of their benefit from the services of the company under study.The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data on the study variables, and distributed in the first quarter of 2022, the response rate was 93%, and the SPSS statistical analysis program was used to analyze the data and test the validity of the study data. The study concluded that Caritas organization for basic humanitarian standards of quality and accountability and their impact on livelihood projects in the Daraya area in the countryside of Damascus, and to a good degree, the organization has committed to achieving basic humanitarian principles during its relief work in the area of Daraya, and the effectiveness of these standards ranged between 25.7 and 88%, where it was The first criterion is the least effective on the ground, and the fourth criterion is the most effective on the ground Based on the results that were reached, the researcher presented a set of recommendations to Caritas, the most prominent of which was the need to raise the effectiveness of the first criterion on the ground in order to improve this type of intervention in the future. By encouraging investment in the agricultural sector whenever possible and the necessity of conducting induction courses for all volunteers on international humanitarian law and human rights law.
