الملخص

Incorporating culture in teaching and learning English asa foreign language has always been a subject of major interest among researchers, teachers and also EFL learners. The views that correspond to this subject are various and totally opposing. One is that language can be taught without culture, and the other, language and culture are interrelated and one cannot be taught without the other. These views and others will be tackled through this research paper that aims to investigate whether culture is included in the teaching learning process. The systematic study to undertake this research is made up of documentary analysis, classroom observations and questionnaires given to both teachers and 2ndyear students from the department of English of Belhadj Bouchaib University Center of Ain Temouchent in Algeria.

ترجمة الملخص: L'intégration de la culture dans l'enseignement et l'apprentissage de l'anglais comme langue étrangère a toujours suscité un intérêt majeur chez les chercheurs, les enseignants et les apprenants de cette langue. Les points de vue qui correspondent à ce sujet sont variés et totalement opposés. L'une est que la langue peut être enseignée sans culture, et l'autre, la langue et la culture sont interdépendantes et on ne peut enseigner sans l'autre. Ces points de vue et d'autres seront abordés dans ce document de recherche qui vise à déterminer si la culture est incluse dans le processus d'apprentissage et d'enseignement de l’anglais. L'étude systématique pour entreprendre cette recherche est composée d'analyses documentaires, d'observations en classe et de questionnaires donnés aux enseignants et aux étudiants de 2ème année du département d'anglais du Centre Universitaire Belhadj Bouchaib d'Ain Temouchent en Algérie.
