- Avian cryptosporidiosis are parasitic infections caused by intracellular protozoa of the genus Cryptosporidium that develop in the microvilli of the epithelial cells of the respiratory, gastrointestinal and sometimes renal tracts. The objective of the present study is based on a coproscopic and anathomopathological study for the purpose of research of Cryptosporidium sp.In the coproscopic examination we collected 60 broiler fecal samples and 08 fleshed turkey samples in the Medea region, these samples were analyzed by the modified Ziehl-Neelson technique. Cryptosporidium infection rates were respectively 36.66% and 37.5% in chickens and turkeys, the most vulnerable subjects to infection are the young subjects especially in the age of 15 to 30 days.In the histological analysis we examined several gut parts of 07 chickens, 02 turkeys and 02 quails, according to clinical and lesional criteria. The parasite was observed in the intestine of five chickens (71%), one turkey out of two, and one quail among two.The results, particularly histological, show that cryptosporidiosis is very common in our poultry farms. In the absence of treatment, this disease, often overlooked by veterinary practitioners, is considered a true scourge
