الملخص

The main aim of this study is to evaluate groundwater resource, the geological characteristics of the aquifers and the hydro chemical characteristics of the water according to the standard specifications of drinking water for different purposes and to evaluate the results and performance wells in the area around Abukarinka, East Darfur State- Sudan. It is bounded by latitudes 11ْ and 12ْ N and longitudes 26ْ and 27ْ E. The average rainfall in the targeted area ranges from about 500 to700mm. The Precambrian basement rocks which are the oldest rocks in the area overlain by the cretaceous Nubian Umm Ruwaba formation, the youngest cover of the area is made up of recent sediments. The static water level (SWL) ranged from 82 m in the south west of the study area to 110m in the north east part. The groundwater recharged by rainfall water and Wadis in the area.The Nubian sandstone constitutes the main aquifer for groundwater in the study area. The movement of ground water exhibit diverse directions in the study area.The results of the chemical and physical analysis of the samples indicate that the groundwater is fit for human and animal consumption in accordance with the standards required internationally and locally. Note that a high percentage of nitrates were found in some wells

المستخلص الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم مصادر المياه الجوفية ومعرفة الوضع الجيولوجي و الخصائص الهيدروجيولوجية للخزانات الجوفية بالإضافة للخصائص الهيدروكيميائية للمياه حسب المواصفات القياسية لمياه الشرب للأغراض المختلفة ولتقييم نتائج وأداء الآبار في منطقة ابو كارنكا وما جاورها بولاية شرق دارفور.تقع منطقة الدراسة بين خطي عرض) ْ11 و ْ12 ( شمالاً وخطي طول (ْ26 و ْ27 ( شرقاً.متوسط معدل هطول الأمطار في منطقة الدراسة يتراوح بين 500 الي 700 مم سنوياً. صخور الأساس تعتبر الأقدم في المنطقة ويرجع عمرها إلى ما قبل الكامبري وتتموضع فوقها لا توافقياً صخور متكون الحجر الرملي النوبي وهي ترجع إلي العصر الطباشيري وتغطي المنطقة بالرسوبيات الحديثة من رمل وطين. الحجر الرملي النوبي (متكون البقّارة) يشكل الخزّان الجوفي الأساسي في المنطقة وتظهر حركة المياه الجوفية في المنطقة في إتجاهات مختلفة. مستوي الماء الساكن في المنطقة يتراوح من 80 متر في جنوب غرب المنطقة إلى 110 متر في أقصى الشمال الشرقي. نتائج التحاليل الفيزيائية والكيميائية للعينات تظهر أن المياه الجوفية صالحة لشرب الإنسان والحيوان اعتماداً على المواصفات القياسية العالمية والمحلية لمياه الشرب مع ملاحظة ظهور نسبة عالية للنترات في بعض الآبار.
