الملخص

HIV is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. It is considered by many to be one of the most destructive epidemics recorded in history, Despite the widespread success of Antiretroviral therapy (ART)as a treatment for HIVIAIDS, adherence remains a problem. For patients to achieve maximum durable suppression of the HIV viral load. The aim of the study is to Determination of Medication Beliefs and Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy in Patients Attending Khartoum Center for HIV Care and Treatment in Sudan.the study was cross sectional –health care centre base study conducted on 120 participants with HIVwereCarriedfromKhartoum Center for HIV Care and Treatment. Simple random sampling technique was use to collect the participants in the period (25April-25June)2021.A structured and modified questionnaire was used to collected data from participants. and then Data was upload in the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS 23). In this study score of 4.2(42%) in adherence to medication out of a possible 10 (50)(41.0%) with complete Adherence,(70)(57.3%) with incomplete Adherence and 27 (67.5%) out of 40, with good medication perception. Adherence to medication was insignificantly increase in patients with secondary education when compared with other education level in the study with p.value 0.244, significant increase in Medication perception in patients with secondary education when compared with other education level in the study with p. value 0.02. insignificant differences were found in Adherence to medication between gender with p. value 0.169 and significant Increase in Medication perception in female than male with p. value 0.04. significant increase on Adherence to medication in students when compared with other occupational level with p. value 0.00. According to finding this study conclude that, patients attending Khartoum center for HIV care and treatment patients had poor adherence to their medication and had a good belief to their Medication
