الملخص

This study aimed at portraying elements of the novel inQuranic stories.Both methods ofcontent analysis and descriptiveand analytical are followed in conducting this study to explain towhat extent the Quranic stories portray the elements of the novel.The population of the study was specialists, who were on work inSudanese universities.Certain stories of the Glorious Book havebeen investigated to illustrate the issue in the question. Thesestories are Story of prophets Ibrahim(Abraham),Yusuf ( Josef ),and Musa ( Moses ) peace be upon them. After a thoroughexploration of the said stories, it became clear a good host ofliterary images can directly be traced and understood. Theresearcher narrowed down his scope of investigation of the threementioned stories, however There are very interestingmanifestations of literary contents that can be spotted across theHoly book. The study includes some questions and hypotheses.Aquestionnaire was used as supportive tool in the data collection.The validity and reliability of the atools were checked. Thestatistical package of analyzing social sciences (SPSS) was usedfor obtaining the results. The most important results obtainedindicated that the three mentioned stories have the elements ofnovel such as theme, setting characterization ,,,etc, they are in partfive. But the researcher sees the scope is still wide and in need ofmore researching. The study is concluded by recommendations, themost important one is:Islamic research institutions should allocatebudgets for Quranic literary research. There are suggestions forfurther researches to be conducted in the future, the most importantone is: Investigating the characteristics of the short story in thestories of the Holy Quran. These and the rest of srecommendationsare in chapter five
