This research paper is entitled The Role of the Language in the Problem of Self-Criticism to Michel Foucault. It is an attempt to show the significance of the linguistic project to Michel Foucault through which a critical turning-point was formed to encounter the contemporary linguistic trends .The importance of the research resides in its being an attempt to deal with one of the features and problems that occupied the philosophical thought and which is demonstrated in dismantling and criticizing the Western Rational Project and the demolition of centralism of the Western Self, excluding it and turning away from it philosophically and cognitively towards the language. This implies that this problem is dimensional. The first dimension is demon strated in the search of the reasons that led to the absence of Self philosophically as well as cognitively in the contemporary philosophical thought and the change in their concepts and the crisis that they are suffering from in the post-novelty thought. Accordingly, the main objective of this research is represented by the indulgence in Foucault’s linguistic project in an attempt to revive his texts and read them critically besides criticizing and analyzing the various attitudes that arose about most of his views .The nature of this research has necessitated dividing it into a preface, three chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction includes the problem of research, its significance and the adopted methodology. The first chapter is entitled The Concept of Man Since Novelty and Beyond. It is divided into three main research categories. The first research category is Man in His Being the Essence of the Project of Novelty. It includes several definitions of the stage of novelty and its various appearances in all of its aspects. It clarifies the main reason that resides behind the relapse of novelty and the reasons behind the deterioration and vanishing of the project. The second research category is Man in His Being the Central Point of Criticism in the Post-novelty Project. It contains the definition as well as description of the post-novelty stage. Then it reveals the most remarkable philosophers who represented the beginning of the post-novelty stage The third research category is The Significance of the Language in the Contemporary Philosophy. It attempts to identify the most important two linguistic trends that emerged in the contemporary philosophy; the first one is the Anglo-Saxson approach trend, while the second one is the Continental approach trend represented by structure, analysis and interpretation. Chapter Two is entitled Language Archaeology –Concept of Significance. It consists of three main research categories. The first research category is Language under Epistemology and Methodology. This one elaborates on the role of the language throughout the three stages that the Western Thought went through (the Renaissance, the Classical Era and the Modern Era).The second category is Language as an Alternative to the Central Ego. This research category elucidates the role of the language in toppling down the centralism of the Western Ego as well as the Western Rational Project with its two dimensions in terms of epistemology and anthology. The third research category is The Novel Self Between Birth and Death. This one clarifies the manifestations of Foucault’s announcement about man’s death in the western thought and its various consequences. It also revels its bond with the post-novelty projects in addition to its link to Nitche. Then it points to the nihilistic vision according to Foucault in many issues including the death of the Self .Chapter Three is entitled The Speech: a Search in Concept of Dimensions. It is divided into three main categories. The first one is The Concept of Speech in Foucault’s Thought. Then we explained about the mechanism of the Archaeological Methodology in his treatment of Speech. The second research category deals with the two dimensions of Speech which are the historical dimension as well as the cognitive one. The third research category is The Mechanisms of Speech Archaeology for Criticizing the Bases of the Western Rationalism. This research category the most important mechanisms which are the link between Speech and history and the link between Speech and Self In the conclusion, we made a general and intensive review for Foucault’s linguistic project and its role in self-criticism in addition to the most important results that the research paper has achieved. Finally, I must say that this paper that took so long to be completed is not fully perfect and it left many pending questions that we wanted to scrutinize hoping that it will pave the way for other research papers to answer them to make this research fully perfect
