ترجمة الملخص
This research aimed to optimize Baker’s yeast (Sacharomyces cerevisiae) and bioethanol production from sugar sorghum stalk juicein batch fermentation methodand studyingthe possibility of increasing the yieldby preparing mixturesof sugar beet molasses and sugar sorghum juice instead of adding nutritional salts. For yeast productionthe effect of seven factors were studiedand each factor were studied at three levels: pH (4, 5, 6), fermentation time (14, 28, 42 h), initial total sugar concentration (2.5, 5, 7.5 %), incubator agitation rate (200, 250, 300 R.P.M), Di ammoniumphosphate concentration (0, 0.5, 1 %), Juice volume(250, 500, 750 mL) and temperature(20, 25, 30, 35, 40 C°.(Results revealed significance effect of all studiedparameters and significant coefficient (p≤ 0.01) betweenparameterson yeast production. Sugar sorghum stalk juice gave6.9g/L of dry yeast biomass when studied parameters were adjusted at the optimum levels: pH= 5, sugar concentration: 5.3 %, fermentation time: 28 h, temperature: 30 C°, agitation rate:250 R.P.M, medium to flask volume:1: 2and without addition of di ammonium phosphate, whereas beet molasses gavethe highest biomass3.47 g/L when sugar concentrationwere adjustedat 5 % and by adding 0.5% of di ammonium phosphate. The best concluded conditions of parameters which were obtained from flasks were applied on the fermenter and results revealed increasing in the biomass yield, since it increased from 15.97% to 23.68 % for sugar sorghum juice and from 11.12% to 20.3 % for sugar beet molasses, and from 15 % to 20 % for the mixturewhich contained 75% sugarsorghum juiceand 25% beet molasses. For ethanol production, theeffect of four factors on ethanol production were studied and each was conducted at three levels: pH (4, 5, 6) sugar concentration (12, 15, 18 %), urea and di ammonium phosphate mixtures (0.12 U + 0.34 P, 0.24 U + 0.68 P, 0 %), inoculation volume(1, 3, 5 %). Statistical results showed significance effect of studied parameters and significance interaction (p≤ 0.01) between pH and the concentrations of urea and di ammonium phosphate on ethanol yield. Sugar sorghum juice gave the highest percentage of ethanol 8.76 % (v/v) with yield of 63.2 % (v/w) when studied parameters were adjusted at pH 5, sugar concentration: 16 %, inoculation volume: 3 % and fermentation time: 24 h, without addition of urea or di ammonium phosphate. Five mixtures (A, B, C, D, E) of beet molasses andsugar sorghum stalk juice which contained 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 % of sugar sorghum stalk juice, respectivelywere preparedand fermented. Results showed that mixture (C) which contained 50 % sugar beet molasses and 50 % sugar sorghum juice gavehigherbiomassandbioethanol 4.31 g/L, 7.9 % (in the fermenter) respectively, compared with 3.35 g/Land 7.2 % frombeet molasseswhensupplemented with urea and di ammonium phosphate. And results also revealed increasing in the yield of biomass and bioethanol by increasing the proportion of sugar sorghum juice in the mixture, since the fifth mixture (E), which contained100 % sugar sorghum juice gave the highestbiomass andbioethanol 5.9g/L(in the fermenter) and 8.9 % (v/v)respectively, whereas themixture (A) which contained100%of beet molassesgave the lowest biomass and bioethanol 2.32 g/L (in the fermenter) and 6.8 % (v/v), respectively. This research emphasizes the importance of sugar sorghum stalk juice as an alternative substrate for production of baker’s yeast which has economical, artificial and feed values and to produce bioethanol as a clean, eco-friendly and sustainable source of energy in the future, in addition to reveal the agricultural, economic and environmental advantages of this crop.
