A combination between two syntactic and semanticphenomena in the Arabic Language is a toll order; howwould the situation then turn out when the subject matterof the research is a literary one. Therefore, this study willcarry within its folds several meaningful and abundantsignificances that are consistent with their content.The subject matter of the research focuses on “ thephenomenon of omission in the preferences ( poeticpurposes): a significant grammatical study”. It is alinguistic phenomenon which is associated with a literaryone that reflects a lively image of ancient Arab history; ithas included all of the qualities which contributed to thevalidation of authentic ethical values. We should notoverlook the fact that it contributes to the preservation ofthe authentic Arabic language as well. Moreover, itconstitutes a category of poems which are used asevidence and substantiation in light of the fact that itincludes instances of varied omissions. I was able toidentify more than 445 instances which include puregrammatical significances that rarely appeared in thepoems of the following ages.I have also noticed a flow of sensational significance andstructural congruence due to the fact that it refers to anumber of poets who lived in different eras. I have alsodetected in them some varying aspects of a psychologicallife. This has enriched the analytical aspect of the studyespecially when omission is considered as one of thegrammatical significances whose meaning varies fromone place to another.As for the study approach, it followed the integratedapproach; I have used the descriptive approach for thedefinitions of the preferences while the historicalapproach was applied in the collection of instances ofomission in the preferences. Finally, I used the analyticalapproach in the analysis of the verses of preferences.One of the most important outcomes of the studyconcluded that the phenomenon of omission is agrammatical phenomenon which has a purpose and anend to show. This significance is associated with theoverall meaning of speech; this significance is onlyreached following a complete comprehension of themeaning.The most sublime significances are praise followed byboastfulness and contempt. This indicates that most ofthe research thirty poems involved eroticism, praise,eulogy and satire. The salient congruence between thedegree of boastfulness and praise is quite noticeable.This is also due to their attachment to other sub branchedlinks to clarify this correspondence.The tributes and the formation of the exalt values of thepre-Islamic and Islamic individual were exemplified inthem. As for the omission of the noun, it comes in thefirst place followed by the letter and the verb. Mostprobably this stresses that omission is associated with thepure human elevation in the first place.
