ترجمة الملخص

Algerian schools are now living in the shadow of many crises, perhaps the most important of which is the phenomenon of school failure, which has had an impact on the pupils feedback, teachers and the educational institution as a whole, which has called for educational actors and researchers interested in this field to research the subject of school failure and all related variables to reach a school environment that guarantees success, especially research in terms of the difficulties experienced by the failed pupil, which may make it difficult to achieve the goals of the school. The aim of the research is to answer the following questions: What is the defensive profile for students who fail in the intermediate stage? At what level of psychological defense mechanisms does the student use an intermediate-stage failure? Does the practice of psychological defense mechanisms differ according to the gender variable? To answer the study’s questions, we relied on the clinical approach in the research and the interview tool to collect and analyze data and the Defense Styles Questionnaire (DSQ).We concluded in the end to the following several results:-The student who failed in the intermediate stage uses immature defense mechanisms.-The defensive profile of the failing student differs by the the sex variable
