الملخص

The Book "The Leadership Star ", written by Mr. Iftikhar Khan,consists of 206 pages of medium-sized pages and is divided intoseven chapters. The book deals mainly with the concept ofleadership and tries to set up an independent space for the conceptof leadership within the related studies of administration science.The author believes that there is an evident confusion between theconcept of leadership and that of management among a largenumber of those who are interested in this subject, as they do nottend to differentiate between the two concepts.We have translated the first and second chapters in addition to a partof the third chapter of the book. The first chapter deals with theconcept of leadership and tries to find a definition by reviewingmany definitions from many writers in this field of studies. Thesecond chapter handles the theoretical framework of the leadershipconcept and sets boundaries between it and other misconceptionstaking the concept of leadership away from the concept ofmanagement. In the third chapter the author offers a presentation ofthe leaders’ tasks such as: strategic planning and supervision, andhints that it is not the job of the leaders to look after the routineworks, which should be done by themanagers.
