- In spite of its importance in the Mediterranean Basin and in Algeria, the olive tree (Olea europea) is still not well protected against the damage caused by the insect pests such as the psyll of the olive tree (Euphyllura olivina). Through our work, we tried to see the effect of the plant extract of the spontaneous species Inula viscosa and the bactericid spinosad on the evolution of the psyll population Euphyllura olivina (Homoptera, Psyllidae) and on the auxiliaries. The obtained results showed a qualitative variability of the Inula aqueous extracts compartments for both regions: Soumâa, Boumedfâa as well as for both seasons: autumn and spring. The results also showed that the leaves and the flowers extract have more important effectiveness than those with roots and stems.
