The study in this thesis include preparationtetradentateazo ).2O2azomethen ligands type (NThis ligands preparation from condensation reaction between salicylaldehydederivative containing azo group and diamino compound (o-phenylen diamine, ethylene diamine).Salicylaldehyde derivative containing azo grouphas been preparation from coupling reaction between diazonium salt of primary amine and benzaldehydderivativeinbase media, showing in schem. This ligands has been identified bythe many spectral methods such as floural transform Infra red (FTIR), Ultra violet –visible (Uv –vis.), elemental analysis and melting point measurement.Tetra chelate complexes of above ligands with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) were prepared.The(matel : ligand) (M:L) molar ratio measured by molarratio method, andthe result ratio was (1:1) for the allioncomplexes.These complexes were characterized by above spectral method in additionto atomic absorptionspectra, molar conductivity measurementand magnetic susceptibility. The I.R spectraldatashow dprotonnatedligands andcoordenatedwith matel ion and som changes in the bands shapes and density with those ofthe free ligands.TheUv-vis. and magnetic susceptibilityresulte showed the proposed geometrical shapes were squar planner configuration forall complexes with all ligand. From the physical propreties and calculation of thermodenamics parameter explain this reaction was exothermic and spontinous.
