- This research has been conducted on Syrian coastal area in 2015 season. Based on random samples of chicken meat producers, which sized to (323) producer ,in addition to many random samples of marketing agencies consisting of (30) wholesalers and (200) retailers and(400) consumers. The research aimed to define marketing canals for chicken meat in the coastal area, and measure its marketing efficiency, determine factors affecting on chicken meat marketing. In addition, it aimed to define the main factors affecting chicken meat consumption in this area, and sitting some practical strategies for developing of marketing process of chicken meat .The research methodology based on descriptive and econometric analysis of marketing functions and indicators. The results showed a decreasing of actual productivity of sampled broilers by(10.6%) of potable productivity. The marketing quantiles of life chicken at producers’ level have distributed among three main marketing canals, including wholesalers, slaughters, and retailers. The marketing cost of life chicken at producer level has formed(1.3%) only of total producers’ costs, which averaged to (556) sp/kg, reflecting low attention of those producers to marketing process. That caused a decreasing of producer’s net returns to (34.3) sp/kg only, in addition to decreasing of their marketing efficiency level to (5.8%),due to increasing of the ratio of total costs to total revenues. From other hand, retailers could achieved the highest net returns averaged to (54) sp/kg, comparing with both producer and wholesaler, where the wholesalers’ net return estimated to (14) sp/kg only. In parallel to that, price decreasing rate and marketing efficiency indicator for whole saler also decreased to (6.6%) and (2.1%) respectively. While the retailers could achieve high rate of price rising estimated to (18.7%), so they could also rise his marketing efficiency level to (7.4%).In general, producers of life chicken could have the highest ratio of consumer price paid for chicken meat estimated to (81.2%), while the ratio of marketing agencies was very low relatively, especially for wholesaler who had only (3.3%) of this price, comparing to (15.5%) for retailer .The sharp fluctuations of sold prices, in coordination with the increasing and instability of input price, caused a low effect of life chicken sold price of on supply at producer’s level; its effect ratio was (10.3%) only. The supply elasticity of life chicken at producers level also sloped down to less than one, estimated to (0.77), while the consumption elasticity of chicken meat raised up to more than one, estimated to (-1.108). Which reflect that chicken meat is becoming approximately as unessential food for local consumers, who used to substitute this kind of meat with some alternative foods. 175Corresponding to that, the chicken meat supply also sloped down at retailer level, with decreasing ratio estimated to (26.4%),comparing with the pre similar periods. The average individual consumption of chicken meat decreased to (1.2) kg/month, at decreasing rate (-32.8%) comparing with 2011 season. In coordination to that ,regression analysis showed that chicken meat consumption has been affected significantly and negatively by its purchasing price and by the consumption expenditure ratio allocated for foods. While it has affected positively by many factors related to household, including households’ income, food expenditure ratio allocated for meats, household size, residency in urban areas, household keeper’s age, and household’s childe number .In conclusion, this research assured that, the main strategy to develop chicken meat marketing in the coastal area most focus on decreasing of producing costs, in order to quarantine the minimum price at farm gate. In addition, this strategy should take inconsideration the necessity of keeping balance between supply and demand in the local market, in order to prevent sharp increasing and fluctuation of chicken meat prices. Moreover, this strategy should also seek to minimize marketing margins by developing methods of direct marketing from producer to consumer, beside to developing consumption forms of chicken meat, especially the promotion of frozen meat consumption, this would also need to develop and reinforce the related facilities and infrastructure especially for freezing and storing procedures
