- The aim of the study of water stress effect on the rhizospheric microbial biomass and the technological components of a cereal crop is to determine the sensitivity of soil microorganisms: aerobic bacteria, azotobacters, actinomycetes, ammonifiers, nitrifiers, denitrifies and fungi. This sensitivity is determined by the decrease in the number of soil microorganisms (rhizosphere) under the effect of water stress which causes the decrease insoil moisture. The sensitivity varies from amicroorganism to another, the actinomycetes are the most resistant; azotobacters, aerobic bacteriaare the most sensitive to water deficit.Fungi are less sensitive to stress but the variation of soil parameters such as pH shows an impact on their number this is confirmed by the correlation between pH and the number of fungi.Water stress has an effect on the cultivation of durum wheat; this effect is shown by the comparison between an irrigated and non-irrigated crop. This stress causes a decrease in the yield, the weight of a thousand grains, the specific weight; and increased protein level, rate of starch, moisture content of the ground product and the level of impurities. Wichevaries from strain to strain. There are interactions between soil, plant and microorganisms in the rhizosphere so the effect of stress on any of the three causes an imbalance in the soil-plant-microorganism system.
