- The building sector is currently one of the world's largest consumers of energy. Indeed, on a global scale, buildings are responsible for 40% of annual energy consumption, and up to 50% if we include energy consumption during construction. The cost that this causes, the share of greenhouse gas emissions that are at the origin of global warming linked to the energy consumption of buildings is estimated at 30% while at the same time energy demand is expected to double by 2050 (according to UNEP). So we need to find sustainable short-term solutions for the well-being of the planet and future generations. We must think of an architecture respectful of the environment which presents itself as an ambition, an urgent alternative for our new century at the center of an environmental awareness, which is not new; a consciousness which was the reference and the support of an ancient so-called vernacular architecture (Ksourian architecture), It is the fruit of a long process of adaptation and traditions passed down from generation to generation. Indeed, the richness of the past reminds us how important it is to highlight the benchmarks of a historical identity that will be a source of new inspiration. A new catalog then opens on the 21st century based on the regenerative trend which is embodied by the “living building challenge” (LBC) certification, the most demanding label in the world. For this, we have proposed the regenerative building that goes beyond sustainable development, this approach represents a closed cycle model where the result is always improved compared to the start of its life cycle. So we verified the relevance of this approach for the convention center located in the new town of el Meneaa (arid zone), our study target where it ultimately allowed us to confirm that the regenerative building and the LBC certification helps ensure indoor and outdoor comfort and minimize the impact of buildings on the environment
