Housing is considered to be the most fundamental need in human life. The aim of architecture has always been to find shelter for man, which protects his activities and protects him from danger. This shelter has to be suitable for human activity and to provide the user with every possible psychological and physical comfort. And housing methodologies that integrate the economic, social and economic aspects. These housing methodologies must be effective in the long term and this leads us to think about sustainable housing.Sustainable housing reduces the negative environmental and social impacts of housing construction, and it is the most cost-effective over time. Sustainability addresses the design of future cities and gives them the requirements for their comfort. The process is based on the concept that sustainability is an integral part of the culture of society as a whole. Therefore, the housing that is designed and built according to the principles of sustainable homes meets the changing needs of the family throughout their lives.This leads us to the concept of flexibility in housing, which is considered to be a part of the economic and social sustainability, as the concept of flexibility meets the social needs for stability and security of the family through the exploitation of the entire lifetime of the house and secure the needs of their emerging needs, and thus ensure comfort, it'salso an economic solution as it reduces the cost of housing and enables the largest number of society members to own houses by providing The efficiency of exploiting all its spaces.Theimportance of flexibility in housing is related to socio-cultural and economic behavioral aspects, because it reflects the desires, needs and future developments of the user while maintaining his social and economic stability.This research addresses sustainable housing as one of the basic housing requirements that allow the housing to provide the occupants' requirements as effectively as possible for as long as possible.Problem of the study: The problem of research lies in the partial understanding of the traditional design process of sustainable housing,and its inability to meet the changing needs of the building occupants. Consequently, traditional design has failed to achieve the concept of sustainable, architecture of the human design principle, which includes meeting the functional needs of the occupants for as long as possible. This raises questions about researching for methods andtools that provide flexibility in housing in order to enable the designer to control all factors of flexible sustainable housing in a manner that ensures that the changing needs are met.Objectives of the study: 1-The research aims to highlight the importance of flexible design in the field of sustainable housing as a basic principle, and to introduce the most important considerations that achieve the flexibility of residential buildings in order to reach flexible and sustainable buildings and contribute to the creation of sustainable societies.2-Developing a model for sustainable residential building that meets thehuman needs with a future vision and a flexible construction system that gives great flexibility using appropriate techniques. This requires answering the following questions:
