The results showed that:* Women are the most exposed to urinary tract infections (64 %).* Elderly people >65 years old are the most affected (46 %).* The predominance of Gram (-) bacillus; the genus Pseudomonas was 44 %.* Presence of contaminating germs: Bacillus and Micrococcus (hospital hygiene).* The isolation of yeasts: Candida albicans.* Strong resistance of extended-spectrum beta -lactamase Enterobacteriaceaeto certain families of antibiotics.* Quinolones and aminoglycosides could be administered in hospital, but after carrying out an antibiogram.*Thymus Pallescensde Noéessentialoil had good antimicrobial activity against the different strains isolated, as well as significant antifungal activity against Candida albicans.
