الملخص

The main objective of the research is the to recognise, analyse and ranking the phases of establishment and development of the global United Nations Peace Keeping Operations, specially the land mark deveolpments which took place upon the great changes in the world like the end of the cold war era and the collapse of the eastern camp .Furthermore, it also focused on the deplyment map of the peacekeeping missions globally as well as the challenges facing its operationalization. The research depends on the discriptive analysis methodology which reads the historic facts and discuss the current proceedings on the fields of the global peace keeping missions as general ,then compare it with what is going on in within the United Nation Mission in Sudan UNMIS , and the United Nations African Union Hybrid Operation In Darfur UNAMID . The main references to the research are the Resolutions, declarations and reports mainly issued by the the United Nations Security Council ,those represent the infrastrucure of this research .Besides, some books and ,magazines and websites related to the global peace keeping operations issue. The research has consequently recommended the revision, evaluation and reforming the peace keeping missions internationally in order to perform efficiently, while it states that that the UNAMID needs an immediate cessation of hostilities in addition to a comprehensive peace deal to allow it operating actively . The research also stressed necessity of coordination between the United Nations and the Regional Organizatons, reduction of the operationalization budgets of the peace missions and concentrating on the projects, and executive programmes like that relating to the Disarmmament Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), returning of the refugees, displaced persons and securing their villages on the way to their full stability and protecting them. In addition to that it recommeneded a clear recognition for the terminology of the robust missions in order not to prejudice the national sovereignty of the states and its responsibility to protect its citizens and secure them, while robustness could be on self defence.
