() Mastitis is a dominant pathology in dairy cattle herds, it is responsible for enormous economic losses mainly related to their impact on milk production and the costs of treatment. In order to reduce the impact of this disease, in our study we tested the effectiveness of an vaccine and its impact on the cytological and bacteriological parameters of milk in a herd of dairy cattle in the Wilaya of Mila.To do this, our experimentation was spread over a period of 2 months in a herd of 130 cattle,of which 39 were selected for our work. We have studied the various parameters such as the measurement of milk production, the California Mastitis Test (CMT), the count of somatic cells in milk (SCC), and finally the bacteriological analyzes which the search for staphylococcus aureus, the search for Escherichia coli (E. coli) and enumeration of fecal (CF) and total mesophilic aerobic flora (FAMT).The results recorded made it possible to demonstrate an increase in the quantity of milk was noted over the 60 days post-vaccination in the vaccinated batches, which went from 21.70 liters / day (D0) to 23.52 liters / day (D60), on the contrary, a regression of milk production was noted in the unvaccinated batch which went from 22.17 liters / day (D0) to 21.71 liters / day (D60). There was also a decrease in the prevalence of mastitis for the vaccinated batch, which went from 42.11% (D0) to 26.32% (D60) in the vaccinated batch. Conversely, an increase in the prevalence of mastitis was noted. went from 25% (D0) to 45% (D60) with an increase in the number of cases of score 1 to D60 (35%) compared to those recorded on D0 (15%) in the unvaccinated batch. The number of SCCs in the milk of the vaccinated group increased from 589 x 103cells / ml (D0) to 484 x 103cells / ml (D60), in contrast, there was an increase in the number of SCCs in the milk of the control group (unvaccinated) which went from 563 x 103cells / ml (D0) to 712 x 103cells / ml (D60).Finally, there was in the staphylococcal and bacterial load which went from (++++) to 0 / (+), as well as a decrease in the load of FAMT and CF which went from 6.1x 104cfu / ml (D0) at 5.4 x 104cfu / ml (D60) for the FAMT, and from 7.3 x 102cfu / ml (J0) at 2.7 x 101cfu / ml (D60) for the CF in the vaccinated batches, whereas there is no improvement on the contrary an increase in the various flora and germs in the unvaccinated batches. In conclusion, the use of an anti-mammitis vaccine, in this Startvac® vaccine, appears to decrease the incidence and severity of infections and provide immunity which results in the shortening of the recovery time and the reduction of the use of antibiotics
