Utilizing antenatal care services is particularly important to the pregnant women who are most likely to be prone to developing obstetric complications. To study the factors that affecting the utilization of antenatal care services among reproductive women in Almamoura area. A community based cross sectional study, used semi-structured questionnairescaptured quantitative data., was conducted from 2016. The response rate was 97.01%,they were young respondents(30-39), high level of education of the majority of the respondents 95.4% had secondary certificate or more, 97.3% were married, 68.1% were unemployed depend on their husbands (head of household). Additionally50% of women were multiprous, 67.3% hadn't health insurance with averaged family size and income.The respondents’ had adequate knowledge on the timing, number of visits, benefits of the antenatal care services, 90.8% preferred visit privateclinic; 45.8%thought that the governmental health facilities had poor health services. Poor utilization of ANC services in Almamoura governmental health facilities (6.1%).Regarding health providers, 81.5% said that they had good attitude towards them, although It took between 40-60 minutes for 68.8% of the women to be served. 83.8% of investigated women satisfied of services and rated it as average. 98.8% of respondents felt that the ANC services were accessible even though they used private transport and paid for the services, 83% paid more than 100 SDG for the ANC services. Most maternal and many neonatal deaths could be prevented if adequate antenatal care and effective obstetric services were provided. Several factors contributed to utilization in Almamoura area among pregnant women, those women had adequate knowledge on the timing, number of visits, benefits of the antenatal care services and they felt that the ANC services were accessible . Federal Ministry of Health should review and strengthen governmental ANC health facilities and ensure that they are friendly and are need focused, Adequate supervision and monitoring at all levels of health care should be ensured, Continuous disseminating of information by the FMoH on antenatal care, delivery and postnatal care services to enhance accessibility by every pregnant woman.
