- The production of gallium, germanium and of indium remained until our days negligible because of their cost and their low content in the ores. However, their current applications in various industrial fields, in particular, the electronic field, made these elements a raw material essential and significant. These last years, a great attention was given to the ores or residues zinc which constitute one of the essential sources of gallium, germanium and of the indium whose their recovery remains beneficial in industry. Our contribution in the 1 era started from this work consists of the study of recovery of gallium, germanium and of indium contained in the residues of zinc of the unit of electrolysis of Ghazaouet (Tlemcen). With this intention, an application of the developed processes of thermal pretreatment and chemical treatment of the residues of zinc, in order to convert sulphides of gallium, germanium and indium into oxides and to eliminate the major elements respectively (zinc and iron), by a natural Algerian bentonitic clay and the precipitation of iron in the form of jarosite. The second part of this work is devoted to the tests of extraction of gallium, germanium and indium by the industrial extractants such as, D2EHPA, Kelex 100 and the TBP in the goal to find a system of extraction making it possible most quantitatively to extract selectively and possible three metals from the solutions prepared under various conditions. In the same context, a study of influence of the physicochemical parameters (pH, time, temperature...) on the extraction was examined. Lastly, a modelling of the studied parameters (pH, mass of bentonite and temperature) was established during the adsorption of gallium, germanium and indium by an activated bentonite, to describe the experimental results obtained by the model suggested and to optimise the operating conditions of adsorption.
