Rafiq Sabir, as one of the prominent voices of modern Kurdish poetry, with his sharp pen and passionate heart, has played an important role in contemporary Kurdish poetry, and his poetic experience from the seventies to the nineties has undergone various transformations that have enriched his experience in terms of content and poetic technique. This research, entitled "The Poetic Experience of Rafiq Sabir in the Shadow of Modernism (1970-1991)," sheds light stage by stage on the aspects of Rafiq Sabir's poetic content and what changes have occurred in the poet's poetic message. Initially, in his poetic experience, due to his membership in the Iraqi Communist Party, he began with internationalist poetry and experimented with this poetic path for many years, but after the Halabja tragedy in 1988, due to societal demands and political changes, cracks appeared in the poet's beliefs and thinking, and he turned to national poetry, while he had never forgotten the national and patriotic thoughts of his people before, but it had always been under the umbrella and framework of the Communist Party. The poet has humanistic, philosophical, and love poetry, which has given a kind of characteristic to his poetic experience, and also part of his poems fall into the category of resistance poetry. What is important here is the role of language, rhythm, and poetic imagery in the foundation of his poetic texts and their impact on the aesthetics of his poetic texts during that period. In poetic language, the poet artistically useselevated poetic language full of symbols, connotations, semantic and linguistic deviation, and topography, and he also creates diverse, striking, and unfamiliar poetic imagery that originates from the depth of high thought. Along with this, the inner melody emerges through the harmony of words and the repetition of sounds, words, and sentences within the framework of traditional meter and rhyme, while dealing freely with meter and rhyme. These elements have led him toward a kind of distinction from other poets, which is discussed in the second and third parts of the research, and Rafiq Sabir's poetic experience represents a new worldview, whose poetic language has made him emerge as a distinct voice in the field of contemporary Kurdish poetry.
