ترجمة الملخص

The objective of Search: Assess the level of serum lipids during the treatment with carbamazepine or valproic acid in children with epilepsy. Research Design: The study included children between the ages of 2-14 years old with epilepsy who have been diagnosed by EEG and who were treated with valproat alone or carbamazepine alone. Carbamazepine group included 21 children (10 female and 11 male) average age 7.4 years, while the valproate group were 12 children (5 females and 7 males) average age 7.58 years. Values of total cholesterol TC , triglycerides TG, high density lipoprotine HDL and low density lipoprotine LDL were calibrated , but very low density lipoprotine VLDL were calculated by dividing the value of triglycerides by 5, before treatment and after three months and then after six months of treatment. Results: The effects of carbamazepine: Observed a statistically significant (P =. 000) rise in the values of cholesterol after six months of treatment compared with the previous values for treatment with average rise of 17.7 mg / dl, equivalent to almost 12% of the medial value pre-treatment. Observed a statistically significant( P = 0.00) rise in the values of the LDL after six months of treatment with carbamazepine compared to the values pre-treatment with average rise of 15 mg / dl, equivalent to 18.6% of the the average value of pre-treatment. Observed a rise in the values of triglycerides after six months of treatment with carbamazepine compared with the values pre-treatment by 1.6 mg / dL, but this rise is not statistically significant( P =. 214 ).Observed a rise in values of HDL after six months of treatment with carbamazepine compared with the previous values befor treatment with average rise of 0.905 mg / dL but this rise is not statistically significant (P =. 168). 78The effects of valproate: It has been observed a slightly rise in the values of TC, TG, LDL, HDL, after six months of treatment with valproate but this rise was not statistically significant.
