ترجمة الملخص

The main advantage of cold-formed steel sections is the great diversity in shape and size. This makes the task of structural designer more complicated by the complex and highly nonlinear nature of the rules that govern their designs .So, in this thesis, we aimed at the implementation of a computer software package for the optimum design methodology of these sections based on genetic algorithms which can overpass the complex nature of the constraints and handle the forming and any other design requirements. This package is divided into three parts. The first is concerned with the geometrical representation of the structural sections and the computation of its properties by a finite element procedure using a plane element. The second part of this package, its backbone, represents the use of Genetic Algorithms in steel sections optimum design. While, in the third part the structural analysis is linked to the optimum design process. The performance of this package has been proved by comparing its results with those collected from previous experimental and theoretical studies.
