This study aimed to reveal Ibn al-Sabbagh’s jurisprudential choices regarding purity and prayer from the book al-Majmu’ by al-Nawawi. In this study, the researcher took the descriptive inductive approach, the deductive approach, and the comparative approach. The study reached results, the most notable of which is that Ibn al-Sabbagh agreed with the Shafi’i school of thought regarding purity. In matters such as; The ruling on purifying the skin of a dead animal by tanning, and the ruling on tinting it with a small piece of silver for unnecessary purposes. He disagreed with them on issues such as; If two waters are in doubt, then he performs ablution with one of them without diligence. The ruling on someone who knows himself to be pure and a juvenile who does not know which came first. The ruling on wiping over pierced slippers. How to wash a hermaphrodite if he dies. Purifying an impure eye with rags.Ibn al-Sabbagh agreed with the Shafi’i school of thought regarding prayer, in matters such as seeing impurity on the garment, body, or place after prayer, combining if the first prayer begins and then it rains, and the time for starting or ending the takbir on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. He disagreed with them on issues such as; The rest session, the ruling on one who performs a Friday rak’ah with the imam, raising the hands after qunoot, wiping the face after completing qunoot, were deposited in the pages of this study.
