- The problem of conserving forest species in the current context of climate change requires, among other things, knowledge of the symbiotic partners that enable species to withstand unfavourable climatic conditions. In this context, we took an interest in the holm oak (Quercus ilex) and its ectomycorrhizal community in the Daira of Larbaa Nath Irathen (Tizi-Ouzou) and the Chréa National Park (Atlas Blidéen). A comparative assessment was carried out on healthy, diseased, and burnt trees at the Ait Aouggacha and Ait Oumalou stations in the Larbaa Nath Irathen (LNI) and the Chréa National Park, with sampling carried out in March and June 2023. Observation and morpho-anatomical study according to the Agerer method (1987–2006) of the different stations studied made it possible to distinguish 40 ectomycorrhizal morphotypes (ECMs). Among these forty morphotypes, we noted the morphotypic richness common to the three stations studied. The results made it possible to note the presence of three types of ECM exploration strategies in the trees of the stations of Larbaa Nath Irathen and Chréa National Park: namely, contact type (C), short distance (CD), and medium and long distance (MLD). MLD ectomycorrhizae were found to be more abundant in the trees at the three sites, with greater abundance in the burnt trees. Analysis of the effect of ecological factors on the ECM community of holm oak revealed a positive effect of altitude, precipitation, and slope on the different ECM exploration strategies. Conversely, a negative effect was recorded for temperature, pH, and exposure on the installation of ectomycorrhizal fungi in holm oak. Analysis of the richness of the soils under the holm oak forests studied enabled us to record a richness of 48 spore morphotypes.
