Introduction to the study Culture is an essential center for modern development and individuals are the means to achieve this development. Educational institutions, especially the university, must play a major role in instilling the principles of educational awareness and education, as it is the center of thought and culture. For its graduates and to participate in the directions of the national development plans of the main tasks that are assigned to build the capacity of human researchers who are able to take note of the importance of information and exploitation and the possibility of dealing with them in a timely manner and to the extent appropriate to solve the information problems and develop their research capabilities to suit modern requirements and contribute to the development of Knowledge and growth, to reach a stage of information maturity. The development of learning outcomes that can access knowledge and have information processing skills is a necessary component of educational, social and cultural life. There fore, the university must play an active role in instilling the principles of information awareness among students and the pursuit of international standards in order to raise the awareness of students to be able to confront the challenges of globalization with the knowledge, knowledge and information skills that make them distinguished in the search for information and use it optimally Therefore, this study aims at identifying the reality of information awareness among university students according to international standards, because activating information awareness is not an end in itself, but rather a means to graduate an educated generation of information capable of achieving the cultural, social and economic development of contemporary society.First-Problem of study Information awareness is the cornerstone of the development of self-learning and continuing education. In response to scientific developments that have imposed a pattern of societal development in which the role of information as the cornerstone of modern economy is growing, there has been a need to reformulate education programs and curricula to empower students with information skills Which makes them capable users of communication technology Information, researchers and analysts, and the effectiveness and efficiency, and make them skilled individuals in solving problems and decision-making, the University must keep pace with the information revolution, to prepare the human capacities capable of identifying their information needs, and organization of knowledge and evaluation and has the skills of problem solving, Of thinking Based on the above, the Ministry of Higher Education in Syria has worked to integrate informatics into its systems and to disseminate information awareness among its students through the organization of workshops among students aimed at developing their research skills and skills, (Waqf, 2015, 343).In order to increase the awareness of information between her students despite the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education to take care of information awareness and provide students with skills, but the subject of information awareness still needs to be studied and research due to the scarcity of local studies -to the knowledge of the researcher .Therefore, the problem of the study lies in the lack of knowledge of the extent of information awareness enjoyed by university students, because it is not measured in a way that follows the methods and scientific methods. Therefore, this study came to know the reality of information awareness among the students of the University of Hama. The study problem can be formulated in the main question. What is the reality of information awareness among university students in the light of international standards? Second-Study Objectives: The study seeks to:1 The level of information awareness among the students of the University of Hama is defined in light of international standards.2. The statistically significant differences at the level of significance of 0.05% in the mean scores of the responses of the subjects of the study are known to be based on the variables of the study (sex, years of study, specialization, foreign language).3 -Proposals to develop a culture of information awareness among university students in the light of international standards Third: Study Questions:1 -What is the reality of information awareness among the students of the University of Hama in the light of international standards?2 -Are there statistically significant differences at the level of significance of 0.05% in the average scores of the responses of the study subjects to the questionnaire of the information awareness attributed to the variables of the study (gender, years of study, study specialization, foreign language)?3 -What are the ways to develop a culture of information awareness among university students in the light of international standards ?Fourthly -Hypotheses of the study: The researcher sought to test the following hypotheses1-The main hypothesis :There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05%) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness due to the variables of the study (sex, academic year, specialization, foreign language). The following sub-assumptions are derived from this hypothesis:1-1-TheFirst sub Hypothesis: There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05%) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness attributed to gender.1-2 –The Second sub Hypothesis: There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05%) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness due to the academic year1-3 –The Third sub-hypothesis: There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05%) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness due to the academic specialization.1-4 -The fourth Sub-hypothesis: There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05%) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness due to foreign language. Fifth: Society and sample The original society of the study consisted of students of the first and last year in some theoretical and applied colleges at the University of Hama and enrolled in the academic year (2017-2018), which numbered (7112) male and female students, after reference to the Department of Student Affairs in each faculty and chose the researcher The sample of the study was randomized. The total number of study members was 470 students Sixth Methodology: The researcher used the descriptive analytical methodSeventh-Study tool: The researcher used the questionnaire as a tool for study and consisted of (41) wordsEighth-The study results1-The reality of the information awareness among a sample of the students of the University of Hama came to a great extent with an average of 4.01 and a percentage of (80.2)2-The criteria for information awareness were as follows: The criterion "Access to information required efficiently and effectively" ranked first, with an average of 4.08, a percentage of 81.6, and a criterion for determining the extent and nature of information needs. (4.00), with a percentage value of (80), and The standard "Legal and Ethical Use of Information" ranked third, with a mean value of 3.83 and a percentage of 76.6. The criterion "The extent to which information is used efficiently to achieve a certain goal" ranked fourth, (3.74), the percentage of its value (74.8), and the criterion of "information assessment and criticism" camein fifth place, where the mean of the mean of this criterion (3.24), and the percentage value of (64.8).3-There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness according to gender variable ,foreign languagevariable4 -There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness according to the variable of the school year in favor of students in the last yea5-There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of students' responses to the questionnaire of information awareness according to the variable of specialization in favor of applied colleges
