Perception of Graduates of Gezira Health Profession Education Master Toward the Effectiveness of Master Program in their Academic Performance, (2019)

الملخص

As there are many graduates of Gezira Master of Health Profession Education (GMHPE) from different batches since 2007, studies must be conducted to evaluate this master program and its effectiveness and suitability for improving health professional education. We applied our study to determine the effectiveness in acquiring knowledge and skills by GMHPE graduates, Postgraduates Satisfaction with the GMHPE program, acquiring professional development by graduates, and comparing teaching performance before and after GMHPE. In this cross-sectional developed questionnaire was utilized for data collection from students who completed their master's program of (GMHPE) from 2007 to 2019.Data were collected, coded, and entered into the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) program (version20) in the computer, using one-way A-nova, Chi-square test, and test Alpha. All students attending the GMHPE 2007-2019 (n = 77) were invited to participate and the number of them who responded to the study was 41with a response rate of (41/77) 53%. Results demonstrated positive perspectives regarding most aspects of our inquiry. The researcher noticed that postgraduate students approved high improvement in tasks such as content and performance standards in main subject, knowledge, understanding of the main subject, knowledge mediation, general skills for teaching, students learning outcome, curriculum development, and selection of instructional methods. Through this study, it appears that most of the participants approved that high studies in health profession education as an essential source of knowledge (83%), skills (87.9%), and then professional development (78%). Participants consistently found programs acceptable, useful, and relevant. On the other hand, the researcher noticed that most postgraduate students approved no improvement in tasks such as extracurricular activities (51.2) and change in salary and promotion (75.6%). Participants reported positive changes in attitudes toward the professional development of teaching (78%).We can conclude that a qualification in health profession education as general encourages students to gain authentic knowledge and skills resulting in increased self-efficacy. Finally, we can recommend conduction of wide scale pattern study to determine strongly the impact of course based on direction of new instructional teaching methods.
