Guelma, like all the cities in Algeria, has a varied colonial residential park that includes neighborhoods made of pavilions that once welcomed the European population with their purely Europeanized way of life. But today, these neighborhoods have a massive change particularly functional and / or conceptual, especially in terms of habitat. Pointing out that the reason behind this dynamic mutation comes down to lifestyle changes and cultural diversity between the European and Algerian people. These mutations are generally random. They no longer correspond to rules of comfort, and unfortunately, they also spoil the homogeneous landscape of the city. This work essentially consists of the comparison based on the initial and original plans oh the habitations and their current plans, a comparison which certainly allows us to identify the different needs and requirements of the current owners. These changes are mainly at the origin of all the urban structures of the city of Guelma. In relation to this, a reorganization of the urban tissue is mandatory to better reorganize in a new architectural conception that can combine at the same time the new needs of the inhabitants with the adequate representation of individual housing districts.
