Background: The aim of this research is to study the relationship of Wilson maxillary curve and intercanine width with the temporomandibular joint morphology in adult orthodontically non-treated subjects.Materials and methods: In result of radiological examination protocol, 22 Caucasian patients with no prior orthodontics treatment were selected (22 patients) from 18 to 50 years of age .The images obtained from the axial , frontal and sagittal slices, study was performed. Pearson's Correlation Coefficient was calculated.Results: The condylar angulation in the right side ( as determined on axial slices) correlated significantly with Wilson curve angulation (p<0.05)in female adults .The condylar width in the leftside ( as determined on coronalslices) correlated significantly with intercanine width (p<0.05) in female adults .No statistically significant relationship between the measurements of temporomandibular joint and occlusal variables in male adults.Conclusions: Some of mandibular condyle measurements can be related with Wilson curve angulationand intercanine width in adult orthodontically non-treated, but we need more studies about that.
