This study examines Authoritarianism phenomenon in the Arab approaches, the relationship between this concept and The others concepts as dictatorship, tyranny, despotism, Democracy, Totalitarianism, post-Totalitarianism, after determining the survival strategies used by authoritarian regimes in order to guarantee the internal stability.In the second chapter we shed light on the authoritarianism dilemma in the Arab states, and the durability of this dilemma related to many factors that have led to their longevity especially economic environment which has been summarized in principles and values western democracy as separation between religion and politics, absence of independent civil society associations in the between upper and low classes, patriarchy and coup-proofing.In order to prove the importance of these factors, we have done comparative study of two regimes Morocco-Jordan from the region, through opting variables like limited political pluralism, semi-opposition, of political institutions by the palace, the survival strategies that contain religious/historical legitimacy, the role of Makhzen Tribes in Morocco and East Banks tribes in Jordan, politics of divide and rule, Arbitration, Defensive liberalization that have initiated in 1990, the Election -valve for these regimes, lastly, democratic transition mechanisms as hold free and fair elections, institutional transition, military .
