The study aimed to discuss the role of public diplomacy in strengthening theinternational attitude towards the Palestinian issue in the period from 2008 to2013, which was characterized by a number of events. Those events were basicactors in moving public diplomacy towards the Palestinian issue, such as theaggressive 2008 and 2012 wars, and the Israeli siege, which was imposed on theGaza strip.The study also discussed the public diplomacy concept as a new form ofdiplomacy used by civil society organizations. Furthermore, it discussed thehistorical development of public diplomacy in different stages of Palestinian wars,and since starting advocacy and popular solidarity movements with thePalestinian issue. It also discussed the public diplomacy determinants, which wererepresented in some UN resolutions and the Israeli practices against thePalestinian people. In addition, the study aimed to focus on identifying the globalpopular movement towards what is happening in Palestine during the aggressive2008 and 2012 wars, which affected the world public opinion, and its impact onthe Palestinian issue . The study shaded lights upon popular solidarity delegationsthat visited Gaza Strip to break the Israeli imposed siege and to work onclassifying solidarity delegations with the Gazans.The study used the historical method, descriptive and analytical approach and thesystems analysis because of the suitability of these approaches to this kind ofstudies.The study presented a series of visions, about public diplomacy, through a numberof interviews, with some community dignitaries and actors, in domestic andinternational levels.The study indicated a set of results stated that the international delegations workedon marketing the Palestinian people sufferings and the Palestinian issue todifferent countries and western societies through conveying truth and byperforming and organizing many events. They would change the mental negativeimage and stereotypes of the Palestinian citizen, and they proved that thePalestinians were the owners of the land, which was stolen by the Jews who didnot permit them to live a dignified life on the rest of their land. They also workedto strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in many of the crises.The study concluded a series of recommendations including considering theactivation of the role of the Palestinian community in Western societies to have apivotal role in the activation of the People's diplomatic roles. In addition, itrecommended formulating an association of the most prominent Palestinian civilsociety organizations, to promote, reinforce and to increase popular solidaritymovements with Palestinian issue.
