ترجمة الملخص

The aim of the study is to identify the effect of internet use on watching TV on students of the Faculty of Information and students of the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Economics, University of Benghazi . After the spread of the Internet and its ease of use to access information and facilitate contact, communication , interactivity through it with the world , low cost and ease of use at the time. Did the students use the Internet more than watching the satellite channels in an attempt to get the news and information they need about the issues that concern them and to see information related to their academic specialization and help them in scientific research? And is it also to spend time for amusement and entertainment, and the practice of various activities or access to them and express their opinions in various areas and affairs that they concern ? And any way to achieve their desires more than the other ? The study also aimed to find out the topics and programs they watch on satellite channels and the applications they use on the Internet and to know the time of watching and use and the number of hours spent by students watching satellite channels or using the Internet. 160The study also aimed to find out the correlation between the type or academic specialization and the college in which the students study and their choice of the way ( the Internet or the television ) from which they obtain information and achieve certain satisfaction, and knowing whether the TV audience tended to use the Internet more than watching TV, and did the students give credibility to the Internet or to the TV and how much they relied on the information they obtained through TV and the Internet. This study is one of the descriptive studies based on the survey method, where the accidental sample was used, which numbered (350) male and female students, distributed to (230) in the Faculty of Information, University of Benghazi, and (120) in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Economics Benghazi University .The researcher used the questionnaire to collect data. The most important results reached are the following :-The largest percentage of students chose the Internet, preferring to get news and information through the Internet, and television did not have a large audienceThe students gave credibility to the TV. 3. It turned out that the targeted male and female students in the Faculty of Information and all their specializations and the Department of Political Science often use the Internet permanently, and they are more than those who watch satellite channels and they were also not keen to watch at the same time. 4. The results showed that most male and female students use a mobile phone to access the Internet more than other methods, and that females are more used to a mobile phone to access the Internet than males.The most selective internet applications are social media, search engines, news websites, and email .The most common motives for using the internet were for social media, then motives for scientific research followed by the purpose of expressing their own opinions ,after that purposes of browsing and finally entertainment. 163Most of the study sample used the internet for more than 4 hours during each session.The choice of series and films was more watched on satellite channels than other programs, followed by the choice of those who watched scientific programs which were equal to news programs. The ratio of people watching programs on satellite TV from one hour to less than 2 hours was the largest, followed by 30 minutes to less than an hour. The largest number of students prefer the Internet to obtain news and information and follow up on issue
