- This work is a part of a development project of medicinal flora group led by both Algerian of Saidal in collaboration with the National Park of Taza in Jijel, in order to know the uses of medicinal plants by the indigenous population. Many surveys were conducted with 120 individuals, with an survey form. This study allowed the identification of 41 medicinal plants species belonging to 22 botanical families. Among the 41 medicinal plants, two plant species were found most frequently used by the population. They are: from family, whose the aerial part is used in the treatment of gastro-intestinal problems including diarrhea cons. Arum L. of the family , known by its toxicity, whose underground part is used in the region to lower cholesterol levels and hypoglycemia. Concerning tests, the technique of reactions found in the , and the absence of nitrogenous . However, the underground part of Arum L., revealed the absence of and nitrogenous substances and the presence of starch. The thin layer chromatography, allowed the revelation of some compounds of secondary metabolism of Batt. Such as the kind of tanins, which are the tanins, and which are corresponding to 7- or 7- technique of infrared spectroscopy and the showed the presence of with 30 carbon atoms, formed by two chains of carbohydrate skeleton lupine. However, in the tubers of Arum are steroidal backbone of 27 carbon atoms, can be a kind with only one saccharide chain. The analysis of the biological activity of both species shows that the extract of capacity, compared to the reference product called ®. The acute toxicity test of Arum L.infused tubers showed that they have little or no toxicity above 2000 mg/kg according ODCE; no clinical signs were recorded during a test period (15 days).
