الملخص

AbstractThe European Union is a unique economic and political unity between twenty-eight European nations. The United Kingdom joined the European Union in 1973. After many years of membership she decided to withdraw from it. Her decision to quit this organization shocked the world especially the member states of this community and led them to have different attitudes towards this issue. This study aimed to investigate the main reasons behind the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from The European Union. To explore the topic, the method that was used is the descriptive method. The results show that the United Kingdom wants to protect her interests and borders even though at the expense of the European Union because what matters her is only to remain that powerful country and to keep her strong position in the world.
