Patients Satisfaction towards Health Services Provided by Medical Doctor and family Physicians at the ElIngaz Health Centers, and Salamat Health Centers, Khartoum State, Sudan (2018)

الملخص

Patient satisfaction influences the outcomes of the physician-patient encounter. Patient satisfaction has become a significant health care outcome and a useful indicator of the quality of care. The study will investigate the patients' satisfaction towards the health services provided by medical doctors and family physician at the level of health centers. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional facility base study, used semi-structured questionnaires captured quantitative data. In the finding, most of studied patients were females, single, unemployed, less than 20years old, 38.7% had primary school education, most of them were seen by family physician. Most of patients (81.1%) recommended this center to others if they were ill, (49.5%) were able to consult the same doctor in repeated visits, although all patients were very satisfied to consult the same doctor in repeated visits, 29.5% of patients were waiting to be seen by doctors, mainly less than 15 min and 88.3% patients were very satisfied, 94.7% of patients were very satisfied towards meeting with the doctor. Patients were very satisfied with all doctors’ technical expertise variables, all doctors’ patient communication variables. Regarding interpersonal aspects, they were very satisfied by all variables, they were to somewhat satisfied. Patients were most satisfied with family physician that medical doctors, they were more skilled in medical knowledge and expertise as well as they were aware of interpersonal skills with patients. The study concluded that patients were most satisfied with family physician than medical doctors, they were more skilled in medical knowledge and expertise as well as they were aware of interpersonal skills with patients and the study recommended to Federal Ministry of Health and states ministries should strengthen, support and advocate to expand the family physician program in all health centers
