Patients’ knowledge and Attitude regarding to Chronic Renal Failure and its Management in heamodylsis unit Omdurman Teaching Hospital Khartoum State Sudan 2013

الملخص
Renal failure is considered as the most widespread health problem in Sudan andthe world. The study aimed to assess the patients’ knowledge and attituderegarding to chronic renal failure and management in heamodylsis unit inOmdurman Teaching Hospital, Khartoum State, Sudan during the period fromSeptember 2012 to October 2013. The sample size consisted of (100) availablepatients. The data was collected using a questionnaire is designed for the purposeof the study. The data analyzed by using statistical package for social science(SPSS). The study showed that renal failure spread among male with 62% and38% for female aged 45- 55 years. Also it’s spread among the low economic classof 52% of cases and 27% from intermediate education level.The study showedthat 42% of patients didn't know about chronic renal failure, 66% do routineinvestigation regularly, 63% regularly follow-up 58% of patients didn't knowamount of protein allowed with positive attitude regarding their illness. The studyconducted that the patients' knowledge were slightly adequate toward their illnessand its management and their attitude were positive.
